The new era of DER project development: modeling solar + storage projects, TOU rates & NEM 2.0 scenarios

Tuesday, May 2, 10:30 am – 11:30 pm

The times are a changing. Analyzing and selling solar & energy storage projects is getting more complex. It requires taking a more holistic approach of the project, the customer and their unique load profile (contained in a Green Button Data interval meter data file).

In this technical training session, we will demonstrate how to accurately, objectively and transparently quantify the economics of DER projects using the Energy Toolbase platform. We will look at case studies of actual residential and commercial projects, and share tips and tricks that many sophisticated developers are using. This training will include:

  • How to optimize for system size & Time-of-use utility rate tariff selection
  • How to analyze NEM 2.0 scenarios & determine exported energy
  • How to model energy storage project savings (with or without PV)

Instructor: Adam Gerza, COO of Energy Toolbase

Session Duration: One (1) hour

About Adam Gerza
Adam Gerza is the COO of Energy Toolbase, an industry leading software platform for modeling and proposing the economics of solar and energy storage projects. He has worked in the solar industry for over 8 years in project development & policy related roles.  Prior to solar, Adam traded natural gas commodity products for 5 years for a bank and later a hedge fund.  He was elected to the CALSEIA board in 2013.  Adam has worked on numerous rate design regulatory proceedings at the CPUC, as well as legislative energy bills in Sacramento.  He has a B.S. in finance from the University of Southern California.
