About Solar Power and Energy Storage Mountain West

In partnership with the Colorado Solar and Storage Association (COSSA) and the team behind North America Smart Energy Week, the largest energy show in North America, Solar Power and Energy Storage Mountain West is scheduled to convene the brightest minds in the solar and energy storage industries. Last year, the event attracted more than 350 attendees. This year's event will feature even more in-depth discussions on the latest trends and technologies impacting the region, alongside ample opportunities to network with professionals across the market.

Mountain West Stats

  • Colorado ranks 12th in the nation for solar installed, with over 1,268 MW.
  • Colorado, with over 300 sunny days per year, has tremendous solar potential and was one of the first states in the U.S. to have a Renewable Energy Standard.
  • Electricity from renewable sources has more than doubled since 2010 to almost 25% of Colorado's net generation in 2017, led by increased wind power from the state's nearly 2,000 turbines.
  • In 2019, Colorado Gov. Jared Polis unveiled a roadmap to 100% renewables by 2040 by signing 11 clean energy bills, which included seven climate and energy bills along with four electric vehicle (EV) bills.
  • In 2017, wind energy contributed almost 14% of New Mexico’s electricity generation with almost 1,800 megawatts of installed electricity generating capacity from more than 1,000 wind turbines.

About Solar Power Events

Presented by the Solar Energy Industries Association (SEIA) and Smart Electric Power Alliance (SEPA), Solar Power Events strives to keep the industry moving forward by offering cutting-edge events centered around the trends, technology, and research that power the industry.

Unlike other energy industry events, all proceeds support the expansion of the US solar energy market through SEIA’s and SEPA’s year-round research and education activities, as well as SEIA’s advocacy efforts.

Commitment to Collaboration

The success of this event, and all Solar Power Events, is heavily driven by the two non-profit, membership organizations behind it. The partnership between SEPA and SEIA, through their joint ownership of the Solar Power Events, has resulted in the creation of a robust suite of business and education opportunities for the solar industry. Solar Power Events organizers and speakers will strive to create a welcoming, collaborative environment for all attendees and stakeholders. At times, debatable issues are discussed at Solar Power Events. These debates make the industry stronger and facilitate the healthy exchange of ideas in a collegial setting. All Solar Power Events speakers will strive to present balanced perspectives on contentious issues in a professional, constructive manner.

SEIA logo

The Solar Energy Industries Association (SEIA®) is the driving force behind solar energy and is building a strong solar industry to power America through advocacy and education. As the national trade association for the U.S. solar energy industry, which employs more than 242,000 Americans, we represent all organizations that promote, manufacture, install and support the development of solar energy. SEIA works with its 1,000 member companies to build jobs and diversity, champion the use of cost-competitive solar in America, remove market barriers and educate the public on the benefits of solar energy. For more information, visit www.seia.org.

SEPA logo

The Smart Electric Power Alliance (SEPA) is dedicated to helping electric power stakeholders address the most pressing issues they encounter as they pursue the transition to a clean and modern electric future and a carbon-free energy system by 2050. We are a trusted partner providing education, research, standards, and collaboration to help utilities, electric customers, and other industry players across four pathways: Transportation Electrification, Grid Integration, Regulatory Innovation and Utility Business Models. Through educational activities, working groups, peer-to-peer engagements and advisory services, SEPA convenes interested parties to facilitate information exchange and knowledge transfer to offer the highest value for our members and partner organizations.
